At the start of the summer, we had SLOE JACK stop by the idobi Radio Studios in North Hollywood to play a little game we like to call Truth Or Darts. We already knew any time with SLOE JACK, aka Jack Mark Garritty, was a good time, but we weren’t prepared for such a great time.
During his visit, we got into all of the nitty-gritty, including what era he would time travel back to if given the chance (and there’s a great little song to accompany it), what he’s genuinely afraid of, bad breath versus sweaty palms, embarrassing text messages, and more.
Despite having a song titled “INSECT,” SLOE JACK reveals that he has an “irrational fear of bugs.”
“I watched one episode of SpongeBob one time, and there’s this scene—it’s a SpongeBob episode called ‘Wormy,’” he shares. “There’s an episode where there’s this caterpillar, and he turns into a butterfly. And then, for some reason, there’s a close-up shot of its face with those buggy eyes. Something to do with a close-up shot of those dome-like eyes that ants and insects got. It gives me the fucking heebie jeebies, man. I can’t do it. I can’t do it.”
To keep with the SpongeBob theme, SLOE JACK also reveals that the classic Nickelodeon series is a guilty pleasure TV show for him.
“I’m a really big SpongeBob SquarePants fan,” he shares. “I grew up watching that. Probably the first ever thing I watched, so to this day, I do watch it, like, sometimes when I’m going to sleep when I’m having night terrors. But only seasons one and two because they’re the only ones I know.”
