Sting… On Such A Night

In a moonlit courtyard in Tuscany, on the evening of September 11th, 2001, Sting will host a musical evening for 200 fans and friends. With his long-time band and several guest musicians, Sting will perform songs from his triple-platinum album, Brand New Day as well as some of his most celebrated hits.

In his inimitable style, Sting will reinvent these songs through reconstructed, intimate arrangements. The performance will be recorded for album release on November 20th entitled… on such a night.

Two years of roadwork on stages across the globe in front of over 3 million people have served to shape and sculpt these songs. As Sting and his band refine the new arrangements in the days leading up to the concert, a 5-camera film crew is capturing the process. Adding to the excitement of the event is a Webcast on yahoo.com taking place on the night of the show. The performance will also be archived for the following two weeks and also be available on getmusic.com. Gleaned from the filming during the rehearsal period and show will be a full-length DVD companion to the album; scheduled for release in early December.

Never one to play it safe, Sting is reworking, recasting and refining his best-known songs while, at the same time, connecting directly and immediately with his fans around the world. “It’s a risk,” he acknowledges, “but it’s a risk worth taking.”
