Rammstein Take Over East German Leaders Old Office, U2 Go Comedy For Next Vid

The video for “Ich Will” (English translation “I Want”) was made over the weekend in the office of East Germany’s former leader Erich Honecker which is really in the heart of Berlin, one of the hot spots for tourists.

Heiko Schoenborn from entaine.com tells Undercover news that “the Rammstein guys all wore suits and looked very official. When they left the building a police special task force stormed and arrested them. The guys didn’t want to say much about the video but it looked like Rammstein were robbing a bank”.

‘Ich Will’ is from Rammstein’s album ‘Mutter’.

U2 have also been in Berlin, making a video for their next single “Stuck In A Moment”. Heiko reports that comedian Soehne Mannheims was meant to support U2 and appear in the video but he was stuck in traffic and missed the gig. Luckily, another of Germany’s top comedians Michael Mittermeier was in the audience and filled in both the support and video role.

In an ironic twist of fate, Mittermeier decided to become a comedian only after he was on stage in Munich with Bono in 1987.

Bono back then played a wrong tone on his guitar and asked the audience if there was anyone who could play this song on the guitar. Young Michael raised his hand and was allowed on stage. 3 days later he quit his job. 3 months later he had his first solo show as a comedian.
