MOD SUN has just revealed a song that will absolutely tug on your heartstrings. “Silverline,” out via Big Loud Rock, details a relationship stripped down to its parts by addiction. On the new track, the artist, who is proudly seven years sober, bares his soul and we are so grateful for his vulnerability.

MOD SUN shares, “‘Silverline’ is a song that has taken on many different lives for me over the last year since it was written. It deals directly with death, addiction, grief, and living with regret.  However, I’ve noticed that everyone who listens to it relates to it with something that they personally connected to.”

He adds, “I have my exact reason for writing it, but other people say they feel something totally different from it. Some people think about an ex, some people think about their parents. It’s a song I’ve always aspired to write. A song so personal to me, but it’s somehow more relatable to others because of that. That’s always been the goal, but I don’t know if I’ve ever been able to get there before in my songwriting.”

He concluded, “I really believe this song can help so many people which is the biggest accomplishment I could ever ask for.”

Check it out below and stay tuned for new music updates.

“Silverline” Lyrics:

Come back down,
Oh, darling take your time
I’ve been there,
I know just what it’s like
To love the things that hate ya back,
I promise that it’ll be okay
You wake up sick,
Can’t make it through the day
Dry your eyes,
I know it’s hard to change
Even though I had to leave,
I’m still happy you happened to me
And I,
I just need to know that you’re alright…
Or lie and say you’re fine.
So I’ll call you once a week,
To make sure that you’re not dead
Close your eyes,
Now darling, get some sleep
Dream of all the things,
You used to be
If you’re ever feeling lonely,
I am only, one call away…
Say “goodnight”,
But just don’t say “goodbye”
Don’t give up,
You’ll find the silverline
Even though I had to leave,
I’m still happy you happened to me
And I,
I just need to know that you’re alright…
Or lie and say you’re fine.
So I’ll call you once a week,
To make sure that you’re not dead
To make sure that you’re not dead
To make sure that you’re not dead
And I,
I just need to know that you’re alright…
Or lie and say you’re fine.
So I call you once a week,
To make sure that you’re not dead
