Moby To Play NYPD And NYFD Widows Benefit

Moby is set to play a fundraiser for the New York Police Department and New York Fire Department Widows’ and Children’s Funds at Centro-Fly, a dance club in New York City. The event will take place tomorrow (September 25) at 9 p.m. ET.

Also playing the benefit are Danny Tenaglia, Francois K (Body & Soul), Louie Vega, Jr. Sanchez, Peter Rauhofer, Tony Humphries, Ron Trent, Mark Ronson, Liquid Todd, and many more. All of the admission and bar proceeds will be donated to the funds. The club anticipates raising close to $150,000 for the cause.

To play the show, Moby is taking a break from recording his forthcoming album, which he says will be done by May of 2002. “I’ve got my studio down in Little Italy here in Manhattan, and I spend most of my time writing music and just trying to finish songs,” he said. “So, I’m working on the next record and hopefully it’ll come out next May. That’s my goal.”
