Mobb Deep Readies for 'Infamy' December 4th

Mobb Deep’s “Burn,” the group’s first single serviced to the street from the highly anticipated “Infamy” album, is starting to heat up on the mix show and mix tape circuit.

The hard-hitting cut from Havoc and Prodigy features guest vocals from long-time Mobb collaborator Big Noyd as well as Murder Inc’s Vita, best known for her inspired work with Ja Rule on his “Put It On Me” single. Vita, who handles the chorus on “Burn,” puts suckers on alert: “When will you ever learn, keep playing with that fire, that ass’ll get burned?”

“Burn” also provides the public with its first dose of “Infamy,” Mobb Deep’s fifth album, which is scheduled for a December 4th release. Havoc produced the majority of “Infamy,” which also features beatwork from The Alchemist, who worked on Mobb Deep’s “Murda Muzik” album and Prodigy’s solo album, “H.N.I.C.” “Infamy” features guest vocals from 112, Lil Mo, Ron Isley and The LOX, all of whom add their distinctive flair to the latest masterpiece from Queensbridge’s most respected representatives.

Havoc and Prodigy’s latest comes on the heels of their most successful album, 1999’s platinum plus “Murda Muzik” which spawned the hits “Quiet Storm” featuring LiL’Kim and “It’s Mine” featuring Nas. Mobb Deep’s two other Loud Records releases, 1995’s “The Infamous” and 1996’s “Hell On Earth,” were certified gold and, like “Murda Muzik,” are viewed as classics within the hip-hop community.

In 2000, Prodigy released his first solo album, “H.N.I.C.,” which included the hits “Keep It Thoro” and “YBE,” with the latter featuring the Cash Money Millionaire’s BG. “H.N.I.C.” was also certified gold and received rave reviews in The Source, XXL and other prominent periodicals. As the streets heat up with “Burn,” get ready for the blast that will arrive with “Infamy.”
