Madonna fans rushed to HBO.com (http://www.hbo.com) during the week ending Aug. 26, for a sneak peek of her live concert broadcast on HBO, according to leading Internet audience measurement service Nielsen//NetRatings.
Traffic to HBO.com soared 39 percent at home to 247,000 unique visitors, compared with 177,000 visitors the previous week.
The top page visited at the site featured concert outtakes and additional show information, capturing nearly 20 percent of the site’s audience.
More than seven percent HBO.com’s traffic logged onto the page showcasing streaming video feeds of Madonna’s concert. Nearly 7 percent the site’s audience clicked on a slide show featuring Madonna’s photographs.
“With exclusive coverage of the Madonna tour, including the broadcast of a full-length concert and additional content on the site, HBO succeeded in cross-promoting the cable network and HBO.com,” said Betty Cho, Internet analyst, NetRatings.
“Fans logging on to HBO.com were treated to streaming outtakes of the concert along with an insider’s look at the costumes, music set list, and additional facts and trivia about the Material Girl.”
