Lenny Kravitz Returns With a Vengeance with 'Dig In'

Lenny Kravitz returns to the airwaves this last week with “Dig In,” the first single from his forthcoming album Lenny, and definitively re-affirms his stature in the Rock world as the track becomes the Number One Most Added Track across all the genre’s formats.

“Dig In” was the week’s most-heralded arrival at all four formats of Rock radio: Modern, Active, AAA and Heritage. At Modern Rock, “Dig In” was added, besting both 311 and Sum 41 in their debut weeks as well as Modern Rock veterans Blink 182 and Bush. At the Active Rock format “Dig In” debuted ahead of first week-ers Rob Zombie and Stereo Mud, Linkin Park and, once again, Bush.

“Dig In” is just a glimpse into the strength of Kravitz’s sixth studio album, Lenny. Set for release on October 30, 2001, the album was written, arranged, produced, and performed by the three-time Grammy-winning artist, and features twelve originals. Lenny is the artist’s first album of new material in nearly three years, and the first since the genre-defying, multi-platinum selling rocker’s breakthrough album 5 (featuring the chart-topping “Fly Away” and his hit rendition of “American Woman,” both Grammy award winners). His most recent Greatest Hits contained the smash Grammy-winning single “Again,” which was nominated for a 2001 MTV Video Award for “Best Male Video,” and is nominated for a 2001 Billboard Music Video Award, to be handed out November 2. Greatest Hits has sold upwards of eight million copies worldwide, further solidifying the premier American rock musician’s international stature.
