Misfit Mentor, a documentary proudly produced by idobi Network, is set to receive a limited theatrical release this month. The film will open for an exclusive theatrical engament at Laemmle Glendale from September 11 to September 17. It will then debut nationwide on digital platforms on September 22. Misfit Mentor is a story of fatherhood, perseverance, and mentorship.
It follows the lovable Jamie Egan, a New Jersey-based elementary school teacher who spent his nights playing in a successful punk/ska band with his very first music student. After enduring a profound family tragedy years later, he retires from education in hopes of taking one more chance at the life he always dreamed of. It is a beautiful tale of navigating a recent loss while confronting insecurities about self-worth, personal shortcomings, and the looming loneliness of an aging musician.
