Epic Re-Launches Website

Epic Records today announced the re-launch of EpicRecords.com. The label has forthcoming releases from multi-platinum artists Macy Gray, Incubus, Michael Jackson, and Ozzy Osbourne on tap this fall, and hopes that the revitalized site will aid in the online success of those artists.

EpicRecords.com is already the online home to artists such as Ben Folds, Korn, Jennifer Lopez, Mandy Moore, Shakira, and 3LW. The site features eleven sections in all, including a wireless page where users can sign up to get breaking artist news sent directly to their cell phones. The site also features a section where users can play interactive video games.

“In creating the new Epic site, we pushed beyond the typical artist list, music clips, and tour dates options,” said Cory Llewellyn, senior director and head of Epic New Media. “With the weekly features, wireless and games sections, and a constant lineup of events such as webcasts, full-album listening parties and chats, EpicRecords.com offers fans a unique destination and a true interactive music experience.”

“What we have here are great artists, incredible songs, and undeniable content across multiple genres,” said Polly Anthony, president of Epic Records. “EpicRecords.com showcases that content in one comprehensive and compelling destination. It’s also a crucial component of our overall marketing strategy as we embrace the exploding opportunities surrounding the digital music experience.”

“The new Epic site is the product of a year of planning and brainstorming that involved just about everybody at the label,” noted Mike Tierney, SVP of Epic Records. “The goals were to focus on the needs of our two most important constituencies: the artists and their fans. I think both groups will be happy with the result. There has never been more content available online from Epic’s artists, nor has it ever been easier to access. We think that on both of those levels our site new rivals any site in the industry.”

Upcoming events at EpicRecords.com include the launch of an Epic Urban site, new Travis and Ben Folds games, and “Epic Radio” which will feature a music channel and Radio Request Engine.
