The Haunt — “Ghost”
The Haunt is staying aligned with their band name via latest release, “Ghost.” The sibling duo says, “’Ghost’ is a song about wanting to let go of someone but not being able to. When you feel like someone is still there with you, but when you look over your shoulder, you remember that they’re gone. It was such an amazing experience getting to work with John Feldmann, who has been such an inspiration to us. He was really able to capture what we are going for on this track.” The punchy and powerful alt-rock outfit is currently on tour throughout the UK and Europe, ahead of a run through the U.S. Check out the full lineup here. — Maria Serra
Basement — “Broken By Design”
Basement officially returned with new music, and fans are certifiably stoked on the release of not one, but two singles, “Broken By Design” and “Wired.” In fact, “Wired” serves as the title track for the group’s forthoming LP, due out on May 8, via Run For Cover Records. Vocalist Andrew Fisher says, “‘Broken By Design’ is about giving something your absolute best and realising it’s destined to fail. Getting to the other side of the situation, looking back and deciding to do everything differently and feeling grateful for the opportunity to grow. We’ve all done a lot of work on getting better at talking to each other as friends and as band mates.”
He adds, “Sometimes that’s an easy distinction – or rather, not a distinction at all. Other times, the lines are blurred and we lose track of who we are and why we do this. When I’m singing, ‘let’s go back to the start’ I mean to when we did this purely for fun. For an excuse to see each other, to travel, to be creative, to express ourselves through music. We all feel so lucky to be in a position to still get to do this and this album and this song in particular, is us trying to go back to how it should be.”— Maria Serra
Solya — “Queen Of Texas”
Solya might just be your next indie-pop obsesion. With haunting, sultry vocals and raw storytelling, Lana Del Rey and MARINA fans are sure to fall instantly in love. On March 6, Solya launched her debut album Queen Of Texas, alongside the title-track music video. The singer-songwriter says, “‘Queen of Texas’ is a deeply personal album with themes of self-acceptance and choosing solitude over toxicity, even though it is something I’ve always feared. Musically, I wanted to create cinematic, heartfelt songs with elements of country, indie rock, and Americana, in combination with ethereal synthesizers. The album was written over the span of 4 months and recorded entirely on analog equipment in just 10 days.” Check out her full touring schedule here.— Maria Serra
Human Issue — “Waking”
So Cal hardcore outfit Human Issue officially signed with Smartpunk Records, and as their first order of business, they unveiled “Waking.” Vocalist Hunter Martinez says, “The song ‘Waking’ is an ode to my friends back home. A group of kids from broken homes who bonded over drinking, stealing, fighting, and being reckless. Waking up later in life feeling the heaviness, visiting those memories, wishing I could change the past and feeling emotional about those who never made it out of that stage in life. Feeling guilt for the friends who had passed early on.” Stay tuned for more face-melting bangers from the group. — Maria Serra
Sincere Engineer — “Cooler”
Sincere Engineer is back with their new single, “Cooler,” following a dazzling tour with Say Anything and Motion City Soundtrack. Lead singer, Deanna Belos, says, “‘Cooler’ is about speeding tickets, and the concept of moving so fast that you’re not really living. It’s a reminder to myself to slow down and enjoy life.” So, take this as your opportunity to reflect, slow down (literally and figuratively), and keep a cool head— all while listening to a new emo banger. — Maria Serra
Violet Grohl — “595”

Ricky Montgomery — “Oh My My”
Ricky Montgomery unleashed a song he’s been holding onto for a while this month, and if you need a dose of some dazzling folk-laced indie rock, consider this your medicine. Montgomery shared, “‘I wrote this song when I was 18 and frustrated with life in St. Louis. A few years later, I decided to keep the 2nd verse of this song and adapt it into a different song I was working on called ‘Line Without a Hook.’ ‘Oh My My’ is just one of many 2016 nostalgia projects I am embarking upon this year. The next one is right around the corner. In the meantime, enjoy my love letter to Missouri.” And, if you loved his LP Montgomery Rick as much as we did…rest assured…a 10-year anniversary tour is on sale now. — Maria Serra

If Not For Me — “Unholy”
These idobi Radio Summer School Tour alumni are back with their first new music of 2026, and it’s one of their heaviest (and catchiest) tracks yet. If this is a preview of what’s to come with more new music in 2026, you’d better buckle up! — Patrick Walford
Like Roses — “Nowhere”
Cali punks Like Roses have just revealed their new song, “Nowhere,” out via Hopeless Records. They say of the offering, “This song sat unfinished for years before we finally revisited it, and experimenting with it brought it to life in a way that’s a little different for us. It lives in that duality of missing something you know wasn’t good for you.” The urgency and raw punk power of this trio will pull you right in on the first note. — Maria Serra
Lavalove — “Go Go Boots”
Lavalove are always on the go…”Go Go Boots,” that is. The Los Angeles indie-pop stars’ new song is all about putting on your best fit, hitting the town, and forgetting about all your troubles. Vocalist and guitarist Tealarose Coy says, “Writing a classic party girl anthem has always been a goal for us. We believe this song completely encapsulates the nightlife in Los Angeles and how it feels to be a girl out with her friends. The catchy melody and exciting background vocals really make this song pop out for us, personally.” If you loved this track, you’ll love their upcoming record, TAN LINES, out April 3 via Pure Noise Records. — Maria Serra
Nicole Alexis — “Just A Friend”
Nashville multi-instrumentalist Nicole Alexis, aka N/A, just released her new track “Just A Friend” from her upcoming EP, Mirrors and Smoke, due out April 17. “‘Just a Friend’ sits in the gray area between love and uncertainty. It’s about falling for someone who keeps you close but never fully commits, leaving you stuck between friendship and something deeper. The song captures that frustrating emotional limbo where you keep hoping things will change even when the signs are already there,” the artist says. The dazzling acoustic track is a must-listen. — Maria Serra
Karen Dió — “Bexy”
Brazilian punk Karen Dió has unleashed a new banger, “Bexy,” via Hopeless Records, and it came about in a truly iconic way. The artist notes, “A few years ago, me and my husband had a Patreon page. We used to share about our lives and hang with our Patrons in live video calls quite often. In one of these live calls, we decided to grab the guitar and improvise a song live, to everyone that joined the call. Bex, one of our OG beloved supporters, joined the live call, so we immediately began writing Bex a song. Matt started to play the chord progression that you hear in the final song, and I also started to sing basically the final version of the vocals, the words beginning to form as we messed around. We wrote the song right there, live, on the call.”
Dió adds, “Instead of singing ‘Bex,’ I sang ‘Bexy,’ a sort [of] linguistic change that happens as my primary language is Brazilian Portuguese. In Portuguese, you add an “ee” sound to every word that finishes with [a] consonant. haha So, for instance, Facebook becomes ‘Faceybooky,’ hot dog turns into ‘hotchy doggy’… So ‘Bex’ ended up turning into ‘Bexy.’ And that was it, the song was almost completed right there on the call.” — Maria Serra
Modern Cult — “Be My Friend”
Florida alt-pop duo Modern Cult, aka Augie Pink and Rod Wendt, just announced their signing with Parallel Vision and Big Loud Rock. For their debut, the two launched their synth-forward bop, “Be My Friend.” The band shares, We’re incredibly excited to be starting this chapter with Parallel Vision and Big Loud Rock—it already feels like a tight-knit family, which can be rare in this world, and that’s something we’re really grateful for.”
Pink says of the track, “’Be My Friend’ was the first song Rod and I ever wrote together. We had just driven down from Lollapalooza, where he was performing with his previous band, and everything just clicked. The song poured out of us in minutes. A little bit after that, Rod sent it over to Brad [Schultz], and the rest is history. It’s about realizing you’ve given everything you can to someone and having the courage to set those boundaries, even when it’s hard.” — Maria Serra
