Alicia Keys Stands By Her 'Worth' As Radio Goes For 'Doe'

Even if you’ve already sold a couple of million albums after releasing only one single, chances are you still live by the age-old adage “Radio stations – can’t live without ’em… can’t live without ’em.”

That’s why Alicia Keys and her record company, J, aren’t putting up a fuss about some stations picking their own follow-up to her smash ballad, “Fallin’,” for her. While Keys’ upbeat warning to a homewrecker, “Jane Doe,” has been getting play over the airwaves for the past few weeks, it’s not the next salvo from her almost-triple-platinum Songs in A Minor LP, according to J.

The next single is still “A Woman’s Worth” and its video, shot in Brooklyn, premieres on BET’s “106 & Park” on Tuesday. Directed by Christopher Robinson, the clip picks up where the video for “Fallin’ ” left off; after Keys’ onscreen love interest gets released from prison, he tries to acclimate to society and find a job, according to the singer’s spokesperson.

Keys, who also recently finished work on a video for the “What’s Going On” project, is heading to Europe over the next couple of weeks to promote her LP. She has little trepidation about traveling in the wake of the terrorist attacks that took place on September 11.

“I personally don’t have any major fear,” she said earlier this month. “The first time I flew [after the attacks], it was eerie. The planes were virtually empty. Nobody was on the planes. Nobody was driving to the airports. I don’t want to fly every day, but I’m taking it easy, step by step.”
