Britney Will Explain 'What It's Like To Be Me' On Fall Tour

Britney Spears will grab another page from the Madonna playbook this fall with a “really, really theatrical” tour that will chart her journey toward full-blown, snake-toting adulthood, according to tour director and choreographer Wade Robson.

The tour is slated to kick off in Miami next month and will include revamped versions of Britney’s hits, plus plenty of new songs from her upcoming third album, presumably including the just-debuted “I’m a Slave 4 U,” which she performed at Thursday’s MTV Video Music Awards.

“The show is gonna be really, really theatrical – it’s really complicated,” Robson said on the red carpet before the VMAs. “It’s a massive show with a lot of new music. It’s just gonna be really different…. The stuff from the previous albums, we’ll remix it and take it in a new direction – flip it up a bit.”

Fans will get a taste of Spears’ acting talents in numerous video clips that will frame the show, Robson said.

“You’re gonna learn a lot more about her as a person. The show is gonna be really about how she’s becoming a woman, how she’s finding herself and her independence. She knows what she wants to do, she knows who she wants to be, and that’s what the show’s about.”

Robson, the man responsible for Britney and ‘NSYNC’s signature dance moves, is also a performer and songwriter in his own right, with a debut album due next year.

Along with Britney beau Justin Timberlake, he co-wrote and co-produced the track “What It’s Like to Be Me” for her new disc.

“It’s sort of rock-driven, with hip-hop beats and pop melodies, real kind of hardcore edgy,” Robson said. “It’s different for her.”
