Eagle-Eye Cherry To Tour This Fall

Eagle-Eye Cherry is preparing for a fall club tour to major U.S. cities. Cherry, whose MCA debut, Present/Future, is to be released domestically on October 30, will be joined by special guest Leona Naess, whose sophomore MCA album, I Tried To Rock You But You Only Roll, is set for an October 9 release.

The son of legendary jazz trumpeter Don Cherry and the brother of singer Neneh Cherry, Eagle-Eye Cherry grew up in Sweden and New York City, playing drums, attending Manhattan’s School of Performing Arts, and touring frequently with his father. He began writing songs in 1994 and signed his first label deal in 1996. Two years later, he released his album debut with Desireless, the Grammy-nominated critic’s pick that included the hits “Save Tonight” and “Falling In Love Again.” Desireless sold over four million copies worldwide, and Eagle-Eye was launched as one of contemporary music’s premier artists.

Since then, in addition to touring the globe and preparing Present/Future, Cherry’s work has included writing and performing the song “Wishing It Was” on Carlos Santana’s multi-platinum, multi-Grammy winning album Supernatural, Cherry has also recorded tracks with the Dust Brothers and with Maxim from The Prodigy.

Present/Future’s 13 songs are: “Been Here Once Before,” “Are You Still Having Fun?,” “One Good Reason,” “Promises Made,” “Feels So Right,” “Crashing Down,” “Long Way Around” (which features sister Neneh), “Lonely Days (Miles Away),” “Together,” “Burning Up,” “Shades of Gray,” “Never Let You Down,” and “Wishing It Was” (previously released on Carlos Santana’s Supernatural). The album’s tracks were produced by Rick Rubin (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys), John Kurzweg (Jewel, Creed) and Adam Kviman (Eagle-Eye Cherry’s “Save Tonight”). The album’s lead single, “Feels So Right” will arrive at AAA, Modern Adult, and Adult Top 40 radio on September 17.
