The Recording Academy has awarded $313,500 in grants that will fund preservation and research projects in the music community. Presented to 16 organizations and individuals, the grants cover three fields: Archiving and preservation of recorded music, music research projects and studies involving the well-being of music professionals. Recipients are determined by the Academy’s National Professional Education Committee.
Each application is judged by merit, uniqueness and the applicant’s ability to accomplish the intended goal. This year’s winners include the Association of Cultural Equity, Brandeis University, the Library of Congress, the Radio Foundation, the International Foundation for Music Research and the Music Intelligence Neural Development Institute.
